Engineering Good
Mid-year fit check! While temperatures climbed up to 35 degrees Celsius, our engines were running hot too. June was a month of wholesome events and new partnerships at EG. With Kitty’s blessing, some folks even secured Coldplay tickets. 🎶

EG Walkie Talkie
We walked the talk! Apart from our ‘10 by 10’ challenge (10k steps by 10am/10pm), volunteer Patrick Poh organised a walk & talk with EG staff, interns, and other volunteers—starting from our office to the National Stadium and Satay by the Bay. Calories out, calories in…
DBS Buyback Programme
Since 2021, DBS has generously donated over 4400 decommissioned work laptops to EG. Now, their employees can also “buy back” their own laptop after it is decommissioned and all proceeds will be donated to EG.
Every 2nd, 3rd, and 4th week, we visit DBS offices at Marina Bay, Changi, and Toh Guan to update laptops for personal use. This initiative not only reduces e-waste but also effectively funds our mission. We have since repurposed over 448 laptops, raising $96,800!

Maybank CIO Visit
A warm welcome to Maybank’s CIO and staff. We hope you enjoyed our very humble office tour and experiencing the magic of homemade assistive devices. To more meaningful adventures together!
Tech For Good Learning Journey
We kicked off our Tech For Good 2023 learning journey! 🔥 At Enabling Village, we brought together innovators, mentors, and technical advisors to explore the world of assistive technology. View the teams’ prototypes at the National Library (Bugis), 30 Sep, 10am-5pm.
Our teams connected with their community partners/disability groups, immersing themselves in the real challenges faced on the ground. They are now ready to create bespoke projects that will foster greater inclusion in the workforce.
Accredify Volunteers
Hello friends from Accredify! Together, we tackled the QC process and readied over 30 laptops for dispatch to low-income families during their corporate volunteering treat. 💻
Humans of EG
Ren Quan, T4G Volunteer Innovator
“My dad is half-paralysed due to a stroke. He’s a TCM physician and the breadwinner of the family. Back when I played soccer and got muscle aches, he would massage my legs. Witnessing his physical deterioration affected me a lot.
My professor mentioned Tech For Good. I was intrigued when my group received the problem statement on building a bowling mechanism for people with cerebral palsy. We went around seeking second opinions in an ‘open jio’ situation and formed a team. When we had electrical issues with our prototype that broke down once on demo day, he brought it home and revived it. Thank god for his tools. We figured we needed less wires and better programming.
We attended workshops to learn how to use saws and 3D printers. We stayed late and even made friends with EG staff. Getting the designs from paper to reality was hard but rewarding. None of us had much mechanical experience, so we relied on YouTube. Our design was based off a DIY wood standing desk, although we changed the measurement and wood quality. My group wanted to help my father so we continued the project. I hope my father will be able to experience bowling again.”
